6 Fabulous Walk-In Closets

Closets come in various sizes, although not all are set up to create efficient and optimal use of space. As a husband and wife team, we know first-hand how important it is to have well-planned areas to comfortably organize wardrobes for couples in their homes. Whether designing closets for ourselves or for our clients, finding the best storage solutions really comes down to the details.

From taking the initial clothing inventory to the selection of countertops, hardware, illuminated mirrors, or the perfect vanity chair, we design these special and intimate dressing areas to function for the needs of each person.

At our new loft in Miami, we created closet space where there really wasn’t any. Behind our custom, floating four-poster bed, we carved out space for a storage system behind mirrored doors that allows Giselle to have her wardrobe, shoes and accessories stylishly concealed within our bedroom suite. This layout created a “dressing room” between the closet and the bathroom, where we included a small bench for folding, packing or putting on/taking off shoes. In the adjacent master bath, we designed a similar closet for Brett, wrapped in the same system of mirrored doors.

A Dapper Walk-In Closet

We love how this closet turned out for our client, who asked us to incorporate a TV into the space, set into the cabinetry near the sizable island. This centerpiece features an Opustone marble top, velvet lined drawers and a built-in bench. Grey glass doors conceal all of his personal items organized neatly on lighted shelving and protect them from humidity and dust. In the ample hanging sections, the rods feature integrated LED lighting. Herringbone wood floors in the space add to the layers of luxe. The Rhythm chandelier by Arik Levy for Vibia dances in the center of the space, adding a sculptural twist and plenty of extra light.

Minimalist Walk-In Closet

Within an open floor plan, we custom designed the closet and storage system to have flush doors in a smooth, matte white Melamine, to compliment the nearby bedroom’s aesthetic. The island was topped in statuary marble, complemented by beautiful espresso-stained wood and walls covered in Phillip Jeffries’ Glam Grass wallcovering in African Diamond. We really love how this walk-in closet feels clean, light and natural.

His and Hers Walk-In Closet

For him, we opted for Opustone’s smoky Velvet Onyx to top off the stained rift-cut oak island. Sleek, bronze glass pocket doors allow our client to separate this elegant space from the adjacent bathroom. Integrated LED lighting and a leather bench accent a masculine yet airy environment for dressing up (or down!)

His and Hers Walk-In Closet

For this client, we designed two glamorous walk-in closets. With distinct spaces and ample room to work with, hers exudes a feminine feel, accented in white marble with delicate gray veining and gold hardware. A beautiful ottoman with a camel-colored leather cushion contrasts with the airy color palette.

Luxe Walk-In Closet

Can you imagine walking into your closet and feeling like you stepped into your own private boutique? Well, we achieved just that for our client! She wanted a glamorous space where she could appreciate her collection of clothing and accessories. With grey glass doors, integrated LED lighting and four, floating crystal candelabras by Windfall Lighting from Ligne Atelier, this space is bright and chic. The central island features Opustone’s Nouvelle Grey marble on top, a Jonathan Adler Vase and a marble tray as stylish accents to her luxe dressing room.

Glam Vanity

Our client requested a makeup/dressing vanity with many layers of light, so we wrapped three sides of the vanity with mirror to reflect and enhance light within the area. We added sconces on either side to complement the overhead fixtures with soft, diffused illumination—perfect for making-up.

The vanity is designed in custom grey, rift-cut oak in a satin finish with a Nouvelle Grey marble top. A comfortable vanity chair by A.Rudin adds timeless chic and contemporary appeal to this well-appointed space .
